Background-

PU Prime launched the Dream Fund in April to help children continue their education despite financial challenges. The initiative began in Abuja, Nigeria and aims to provide long-term support for students to stay in school.

The initiative provides support for school fees, examination costs, books, uniforms and digital learning resources. Unlike short-term charity drives, the Dream Fund has been designed as a multi-year programme to give students stable academic support over several school terms.

As part of the first phase of the initiative, PU Prime partnered with Destine Children’s Orphanage in Abuja to provide educational support to children facing financial challenges.

Representatives of both organisations signed an agreement to ensure transparent distribution of assistance and proper implementation of the programme. The company said the partnership is intended to help students continue their education without disruption caused by financial constraints.

Officials from the orphanage said many children show strong academic ability but struggle to stay in school because of rising education costs. PU Prime’s Nigeria Country Manager, Mr. Idowu, said the company decided to launch the programme after seeing the challenges faced by students during earlier visits to the orphanage.

He added that the initiative is currently supporting 23 children studying in six different schools. PU Prime said the Dream Fund reflects its commitment to improving access to education and supporting local communities. The company plans to expand the programme to more regions in the future through partnerships with educational institutions and social organisations.

The company added that the long-term goal is to build a wider global network that supports children’s education and improves learning opportunities for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
