Florida State University (FSU) Vice President for Student Affairs Amy Hecht has received a Fulbright International Education Administrators (IEA) Award, providing an opportunity to strengthen the university’s international partnerships and expand global engagement.
The award will take Hecht to France for a two-week programme focused on the country’s higher education and research system. The programme includes university visits, meetings with government officials and higher education professionals, networking sessions and cultural activities.
FSU said Hecht will use the programme to explore new ways to support student study abroad opportunities, encourage faculty research partnerships and build stronger relationships with French universities. The university believes the experience will help create long-term international collaborations.
The Fulbright International Education Administrators Award allows higher education leaders in the United States to study education systems in other countries, exchange best practices and develop institutional partnerships.
Hecht said she looks forward to learning from France’s higher education system and bringing new ideas back to FSU. She added that joining the university’s community of Fulbright recipients is an honour and reflects FSU’s commitment to international engagement.
The university already has student exchange agreements with several French institutions, including MICEFA, NEOMA Business School and the University of Strasbourg. FSU also offers study abroad programmes in France through its Global Exchange Programs and International Programs.
These include the Dance in Paris programme, which combines dance training with French cultural studies, and the Intensive French programme offered with the Institut Catholique de Paris.
FSU said the award will help strengthen existing partnerships in France while creating new opportunities for students, faculty and researchers to participate in international education and academic collaboration.
