Background
Partners Group has teamed up with CVC Strategic Opportunities to help drive the next stage of growth at International Schools Partnership (ISP), one of the largest K-12 education platforms worldwide. As part of the agreement, CVC will take a 20% minority stake, while Partners Group will keep the majority share. OMERS, which bought a minority stake in 2021, will also continue as an investor.
Founded in 2013 by Partners Group and ISP’s management team, the company has grown steadily to operate 111 schools across 25 countries, educating more than 110,000 students. ISP is based on the time-tested growth strategy of purchasing schools in demand-affected areas and improving them with its unique learning philosophy. Its focus extends beyond academics to include digital, language, and life skills.
With the new partnership, ISP plans to build on its strong foundation. The major initiatives will involve the establishment of new schools, the building of more infrastructure, and the establishment of proprietary technology solutions to enhance teaching practices and the student experience.
Steve Brown, Chief Executive Officer of ISP, said the school’s aim is to be the “school of choice” in each region, preparing students as lifelong learners with adaptability and confidence. He welcomed CVC as a partner in continuing the company’s mission.
Andrew Deakin, Partner at Partners Group, called ISP “one of our proudest achievements,” highlighting how it grew from a vision into a global leader in K-12 education over the past decade.
Jan Reinier Voûte, Managing Partner at CVC Strategic Opportunities, said ISP fits perfectly with CVC’s long-term investment goals. He praised ISP for its ability to provide high-quality education to families and communities around the world.
The new partnership will help speed up ISP’s global growth while keeping its focus on student-centered learning.
